Job description
Participate in development of asset strategy to support the Organisational Strategy.
Responsible for fleet (ships) health and integrity ensuring optimal vessel availability.
Ensure proper departmental financial management, planning and control.
Ensure proper financial management and oversight of special projects like Drydocks, repairs and new builds
Responsible for the development of annual technical and crewing vessel operating cost budgets in line with company’s 5-year planning cycle.
Ensure that risk, insurance and liability management of assets are effectively controlled.
Lead a high performing Technical Services & Assurance team of highly skilled individuals with experience and qualifications of Masters & Chief Engineers
Responsible for all facets of the project management function of dry docks and special projects, such as vessel modifications and upgrades.
Minimum requirements
Holds a valid IMO recognised Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer Unlimited.
Has at least 8 years’ marine industry experience including shore-based management and at least 2 years sailing experience as Chief
Engineer Unlimited with proven managerial and leadership competence/capabilities.
Has strong SHE-Q awareness and compliance.
Has a good understanding of managing Dry Dock projects.
Is able to deliver results and meet client expectations.
Displays good leadership and company values through interactions with clients, vessel crew and service providers.
Has commercial acumen and a good understanding of people management.
