Job description

Prepare accurate, comprehensive and timeous management accounts, budgets / forecasts, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with internal processes and controls, as well as accounting standards, statutory audits and good codes of practice.
Ensure tax compliance and liaise with the tax authority on any related matters.
Provide assistance and advice on administrative, accounting, tax, computer systems and procedures to management and staff.
Monitor cash, debtors and investment performance on an ongoing basis and provide advice and take corrective action where necessary.
Manage the Finance Department (10 staff) in terms of its human resources, including performance management, training and development.

Minimum requirements

Registered Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 7 years of experience of which 3 need to have been in a commercial environment at a managerial level.
Previous experience dealing with multiple operating locations in South Africa and, ideally, experience in other jurisdictions such as Mozambique / Namibia / Ghana.
Ability to understand and practically apply financial principles / guidelines, and be up to date with latest IAS and IFRS developments.
Ability to work under pressure and independently within a larger team and able to demonstrate proactiveness and assertiveness.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage internal stakeholder requirements and expectations.
Ability to make decisions, initiate action and deliver results to meet Client expectations.
