Introduction
We are looking for candidates for a one-year trainee programme. The nature of the programme will be primarily practical. The focus will be on obtaining experience in the various aspects of the Crewing Department, and the incumbent will be required to assist with crewing administration and logistics.
Job description

Participate in activities focused on acquiring knowledge of crewing operations under supervision, progressing to working independently as competence develops.
Assist with all administration and logistics related to crew changes, travel arrangements, documentation, and compliance.
Support the Crewing team by engaging professionally with clients, crewmembers and internal stakeholders, both telephonically and in writing.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all crewing information, personnel files, and company processes.
Uphold AMSOL’s values and contribute positively to the smooth running of the department.

Minimum requirements

Has recently obtained their Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency (Deck or Engineering) and is looking for a shore-based development opportunity in crewing operations.
Has excellent administration skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisation.
Is confident communicating with clients and crew, and able to maintain professional relationships at all times.
Is willing to work flexible and irregular hours, including weekends, as required.
Is a South African citizen, resides in Durban, and can travel to the office daily.
Demonstrates high energy, commitment to learning, a positive attitude, and the ability to function as part of a team.
Is willing to assist wherever required in the Crewing Department and strictly adheres to confidentiality protocols.
