Introduction
We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer who is technically skilled, proactive, and solutions-driven, with a passion for building secure and high-performing networks. In this role, you’ll design, implement, maintain, and optimise AMSOL’s network infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime, security, and scalability — driving digital excellence across our shore-based and maritime operations.
Job description

Key performance areas:
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade LAN/WAN and wireless networks across shore-based and vessel environments.
Manage and optimise routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and governance frameworks (ISO 27001, ITIL, POPIA).
Proactively monitor performance, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure SLA compliance.
Lead, guide, and mentor Network Administrators, fostering technical excellence and skills development.
Contribute to digital transformation initiatives by introducing innovative and secure network solutions.

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as MCSE, CompTIA Network , CCNA, or Fortinet NSE.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in network design, implementation, and support in an enterprise environment.
Strong technical knowledge of LAN/WAN architectures, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls.
Exposure to virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud networking (Azure/AWS) is advantageous.
Proven ability to lead and mentor junior technical team members.
