Introduction
We are looking for a Cost Estimator to join our team on a fixed-term basis, supporting docking, maintenance, and upgrade projects. The Cost Estimator will play a key role in ensuring accurate cost forecasts and detailed project breakdowns to guide project planning and support sound financial decisions. 6 MONTH PROJECT STARTING 01 FEBRUARY 2026
Job description
Key performance areas:
•Analyze project drawings, plans, and specifications to determine project scope and cost.
•Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and present estimates to stakeholders.
•Monitor and update estimates based on changes in scope, materials, and timelines.
•Assist with value engineering to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
•Identify potential risks, cost overruns, and propose mitigation strategies.
•Conduct post-project evaluations and capture lessons learned.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience
•National Diploma in Engineering / Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
•Proven experience with large-scale or multi-phase projects.
•Exposure to value engineering or cost optimization.
•Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
•Experience in high-risk or specialized sectors such as maritime.
•Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
•Lean Six Sigma (Advantageous).
Skills & Competencies
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and cost estimating tools.
•Knowledge of SHEQ standards, ISO, and marine industry regulations.
•Strong client orientation and commercial acumen.
Results-driven with excellent decision-making and partnership-building skills.
